We’re excited to announce that Bitwave has secured a Stellar Community Fund award from the Stellar Development Foundation (SDF)!
We’re proud to develop a next-generation payment solution that’s set to unlock a new era of enterprise-grade custodial and on-chain payments.
This award builds on the success of our earlier sync with the Stellar blockchain, which brought a native integration with the Stellar Network to the Bitwave platform in July. With this award, Bitwave will extend its enterprise capabilities by introducing Stellar-based custodial and on-chain payment solutions.
"The Stellar Community Fund is proud to support projects like Bitwave to help them build, launch, and grow,” said Justin Rice, VP of Ecosystem at Stellar Development Foundation.
“Bitwave is bridging the gap between blockchain and traditional finance and we are excited to see where they go from here with the support of this Stellar Community Fund award."
Together, we’re enabling new efficiencies for cross-border payments and regulated business operations.
What’s New: Expanding Payment Capabilities with Stellar
We plan to use the Stellar Community Fund award to support two critical innovations:
- Custodial B2B Payment Support for Stellar Lumens (XLM)
Bitwave will integrate Stellar Lumens (XLM) into its custodial payment infrastructure through our existing connections with Coinbase Prime, Coinbase Custody, and Oracle NetSuite. This integration will enable enterprises to securely process B2B payments in XLM while maintaining compliance with financial reporting and payment regulations.
- Stellar Soroban On-Chain Payments
Bitwave will develop and deploy a smart contract on Stellar to enable on-chain payment capabilities directly through the Bitwave platform. This feature will support payments using Stellar, giving enterprises seamless on-chain transaction management with enhanced privacy and efficiency.
We’re thrilled to welcome Stellar as the first non-EVM blockchain integrated into Bitwave’s custodial and on-chain payment workflows.
By leveraging Stellar’s strengths — fast, low-cost transactions and institutional-grade security — Bitwave is equipping enterprises with the tools they need to streamline cross-border payments and scale operations globally.
How This Builds on our Stellar Activation Award
Earlier this year, Bitwave announced completion of our integration with Stellar, supported by the Stellar Community Fund’s Activation Award. This integration enables finance teams to seamlessly manage XLM transactions within Bitwave’s platform, offering key features such as:
- Granular Lot-by-Lot Cost-Basis Tracking
- High-Volume Transaction Categorization
- GAAP/IFRS-Compliant Reporting
This latest step takes our partnership to the next level by introducing payment-specific capabilities, reinforcing Bitwave’s role as a trusted financial partner for projects building on Stellar.
How Bitwave is Empowering the Stellar Ecosystem
By developing these enhanced payment solutions, Bitwave is helping businesses in the Stellar ecosystem unlock faster, more secure, and compliant financial workflows.
These tools support a wide range of use cases, from tokenizing real-world assets to cross-border remittances, delivering value to enterprises, startups, and developers alike.
“Stellar’s focus on empowering real-world financial solutions perfectly aligns with Bitwave’s mission to simplify financial operations,” said Amy Kalnoki, Co-Founder and COO of Bitwave.
“This award from the Stellar Development Foundation enables us to bring enterprise-grade payment capabilities to the Stellar network, addressing critical challenges like privacy, compliance, and efficiency for businesses.”
Bitwave’s integration is a game-changer for the Stellar ecosystem, offering advanced tools to streamline compliance, simplify payments, and reduce costs for projects building on Stellar.
